Summary

We have made some additional improvements to USAS-R with the release of version 8.6.0.  This release contains bug fixes and improvements as detailed in the release notes below.

Important Highlights

  1. Corrected the requisition converter in the SOAP Bridge to convert requisitions that do not have account codes set on the items.  Redesign does not require account codes on requisition items, but was not converting the requisition via the SOAP Bridge if the account was missing.

  2. Implemented changes to the 1099-MISC form and created the new 1099-NEC form per IRS Publication 1220.  We are currently working with NWOCA to process test submissions for both types of 1099s through the IRS FIRE System test site.  We will followup with any necessary corrections pending test results.  Please note, we have some additional changes to make to 1099 processing related to making sure the report and XML files are sent to the file archive and will let you know when those changes are complete.

  3. Corrected problems with the receipt reverse option.  First, this option was not properly secured and read-only users had access to this option.  The USAS_RECEIPT_CREATE permission is required to post a reverse receipt and is included in the standard usas role.  Second, if an error was generated when processing the reversal it appeared to the user as the process had failed but in fact the reverse receipt had been created.  Both problems have been corrected.

  4. Implemented the filtering of customers and ledger codes to allow users to easily search for the customer or ledger codes they wish to use from the drop down.  Users may filter customer by number or name and ledger codes by code or description.  The name and description filter search by "starts with" by default, but the wildcard '%' can be used when filtering as well.

  5. We corrected the calculation for Forecast Line #4.010 per ODE.  According to the EMIS Manual, see screenshot below, the 4.010 line includes object codes 810 through 819.  This is incorrect and should only include object codes 810 & 811 per ODE.  The problem with line 4.010 impacted the following totals lines as line 4.010 is included in each of these totals: 4.500, 5.050 & 6.010.

Important Note

Redesign districts who have already submitted their forecast should resubmit IF they had expenditures against these 800 level object codes.  Districts should review their forecast and compare the amounts they previously submitted and resubmit if line 4.010 was incorrect in the original submission.

Please keep in mind these release notes only reflect the changes included in this release.  There are many other features of the software that were previously released that will not be reflected in these release notes.  General information about all of the features available in USAS-R can be found in our USAS-R Documentation.  There is a section in the documentation that also details the significant changes between USAS-R and classic USAS.
