Improvements
Add Qualified Overtime to Box 14.
In August the IRS stated that W2’s for Tax Year 2025 would not change in order to make the Overtime and Tip calculations easier for Employers and 2025 would be treated as the transition year.
In early November, the IRS issued guidance for Employers related to Penalty Relief. In this memo, the IRS states Box 14 can be used to report qualified overtime for 2025.
The Box 14 code for Qualified Overtime will be
QOT.The calculation for 2025 Qualified Overtime will only include
W2 Overtimeadjustment amounts. If districts want to include 2025 qualified overtime for 2025, they must add W2 Overtime adjustments.
