Summary
This release of USPS-R contains several improvements and patches as detailed in the full release notes below.
Important highlights from this release
USPSR-3574 corrects a bug that we believe is unlikely to have occurred in production. However, if you are live on USPS-R, do not plan to re-import and also meet the following criteria we want to highlight this issue as it could have affected the taxable gross figure for Federal and Ohio withholding.Â
In order to be affected by this issue you would have had to have had paid supplemental wages with annuities that exceeded either the regular or supplemental wage amount (depending on the taxing option you selected for the employee).Â
When paying supplemental wages you can choose to apply annuities to either supplemental or regular wages first. If the annuities exceed your first taxing option the remaining annuities should carry over to the other wage type.Â
Prior to this fix the annuity remainder was not being properly applied to the other wage type.Â
If you were affected by this issue adjustment journal entries to federal and state taxable gross may be required. If you are unsure if you were affected or need assistance in correcting the issue you can contact your ITC and/or the SSDT directly via ssdt-feedback@nwoca.org
This release also contains a complete upgrade of the payments structure. Most of the changes are behind the scenes and improve the performance of this piece of the application, though some changes to the user interface will be evident. One major improvement this refactoring allows is the filtering by many columns on the screen that would previously result in query cost errors for districts of moderate size.Â
