USPS 2026.11.1 Release Notes

USPS 2026.11.1 Release Notes

Summary

This release of USPS contains a bug fix and patch. See highlights below.

The 2026.8.0 release of USPS introduced the new W4 option to mark an employee exempt from federal tax. While withholding for this option was correct (zero dollar withholding) no historical payroll item record was written to the history. This release of USPS corrects this behavior and going forward all exempt employees will have a federal historical record, with a zero dollar amount, so that gross and applicable gross are tracked for W2, Quarter Report, and other historical reporting.

This release also includes a patch to run at startup and report back to SSDT. The information in the report is minimal and will be used to write future patches to correct history for each district affected by this bug. The quarter report includes a warning Calculated Adjusted Gross Different Than Total Adjusted Gross from Federal Records, which will help find any employees that will need corrections. Districts may also add adjustment journals for the federal record to balance if balancing needs to happen before a follow up hotfix can be released.
