Summary
We have made some additional improvements to USAS-R with the release of version 8.10.0. This release contains bug fixes and improvements as detailed in the release notes below.
Corrected a problem that allowed users without password change permissions to change a user's password. This was only possible if they knew what the password was.
Continued progress on the ability to merge vendors.
Created the Calendar Year tab in the File Archive. We updated the report bundles to send the CYE reports to the Calendar Year Archive tab instead of the Monthly Report Archive tab December entry. We also updated the 1099 process to send a copy of the generated documents to the calendar year archive.Â
Please Note
Please be aware of the following items related to 1099 file generation.
If districts choose to generate the 1099 submission files separately by type, once for 1099-MISC and once for 1099-NEC, the output file name provided as default will be the same for both files if the user does not change it to specifically reference the type they are generating the submission file for.  The "Output File Name" is just under the "Output File Type" near the top of the 1099 Extract interface.
If a district is configured to submit the TAP submission file to the IRS on their own behalf, the transmitter report stored in the file archive will be named 1099Result.txt but the report that downloads is named 1099.txt. Please be assured, this is the same report. We have created a Jira issue to make improvements to the file name to make them consistent before processing next calendar year.
Important Highlights
Please keep in mind these release notes only reflect the changes included in this release. There are many other features of the software that were previously released that will not be reflected in these release notes. General information about all of the features available in USAS-R can be found in our USAS-R Documentation. There is a section in the documentation that also details the significant changes between USAS-R and classic USAS.Â
