Go to Reports - > W2 Reports - > W2 Report and Submission
Select Output Type = Reports and set Format = Plain Text or any given options.
Change the Output Type = Submission.
Check if “Format For Summary Reports” is visible with the same selected value of Format as we did in step 2 for Output Type = Report.
Change the “Format For Summary Reports” value for Output Type = Submission and check if the selected value remains same for Output Type = Report.
Generate all Summary Reports for Output Type = Submission with various “Format For Summary Reports” options to verify if the reports are generated in same format that is selected for it.
Expected Result :
New “Format For Summary Reports” option should be visible for Output Type = Submission.
The value of Format For Summary Reports should remain same when we change Output Type to Report or Submission.
The “Format For Summary Reports” should be applicable only for Summary Reports.
All Submission File Reports should be generated as fix format file. They do not use the Format For Summary Reports options to generate the report.
For Output Type = Forms and XML, “Format For Summary Reports” should not be visible.

Format for Summary Reports -The value of Format for Summary Reports will remain same when you change the Output Type to Report or Submission. Only pertains to the File Summary Reports.
