All messaging in the Schools Interoperability Framework takes place within the context of one or more SIF Zones. Zones are logical containers that exist on and are managed by the zone integration server (ZIS). An Agent has a reliable message queue in each zone it is connected to, and must communicate with that zone to retrieve its messages. The SIF Agent can connect to multiple zones concurrently.
