Menu Commands

File Menu

The File menu offers these commands.

New Zone…

Opens the New Zone dialog box to add a zone to the Agent.

New Zone Group…

Opens the New Zone Group dialog box to add a new zone group for organizing zones. (Note you can also create a new group directly from the New Zone dialog box).

Import Zones

Opens a dialog box to import zones into the Agent.

Export Zones

Opens a dialog box to export zones from the Agent.

Delete Zones…

Opens the Delete Zones dialog box to remove one or more zones from the Agent. Deleting a zone disassociates the Agent from it, and "unbinds" all application data that was previously synchronized with the zone.

Agent Settings…

Opens the global Agent Settings dialog box

Shutdown Agent

Shuts down the Agent and closes the Console. The Agent will place itself into Sleep Mode in each zone it is connected to on the zone integration server, close all database connections, and terminate.

Close Console

Closes the Console window but leaves the SIF Agent running



Zone Menu

The Zone menu offers these commands for the zone that is selected in the main window:

Connect

Connects the Agent to the zone. Note the Agent sends several messages to the server each time it connects:

  • Sends a SIF_Register message to the zone to notify it of the current registration parameters and wakeup the zone if currently in Sleep Mode

  • Sends a SIF_Provide and SIF_Subscribe messages for each of the SIF Data Objects the Agent is providing and subscribing to

  • Requests a SIF_ZoneStatus object, unless that option has been disabled in the Settings dialog box.

Disconnect

Disconnects the Agent from the zone. The zone is placed into Sleep Mode on the zone integration server to inform it that the Agent cannot accept any messages at this time.

Control > Ping

Sends a SIF_Ping to the server to test connectivity

Control > Sleep

Places the zone in Sleep Mode on the server

Control > Unregister

Unregisters the selected zone or zones

Control > Wakeup

Wakes up a zone currently in Sleep Mode

Zone Status

If a zone is selected in the main window, this opens a window showing the status of the selected zone.

Zone Settings…

If a zone is selected in the main window, this opens the Zone Settings dialog box to manage zone settings.



Tools Menu

The Tools menu offers these commands.

Advanced

Allows access to Event Queue Viewer screen.

Database Status

Opens a box where user can view status of database.

Help Menu

The Help menu offers this command.

Open the About dialog box to display the Agent's version number and any copyright or legal notices
