Classic W2 Submission files all end in the file extension .SEQ
Redesign used the .SEQ extension, but multiple tax entities are requesting the file have the .txt extension
There are no changes being made to the submission files, just changing the extension
This will prevent the users from having to change the extension before upload
If you have already created the submission files, there is no need to run them again. You can change the file extension from .SEQ to .txt
After working with CCA to test our W2 Submission layout, it was discovered that we need to update a few items.
This issue corrects the items CCA requires for tax year 2020 on the W2 submission.
If you have already created the CCA file for your district in redesign, you should regenerate the CCA submission.
Bug Fixes
Correct bug that was incorrectly adding employer pickup values to the history. These values were never used if the employee was not a pick up employee, but it was confusing to see the values in the payment grids.
Improvements
Improved the AFFORD report to use the determined date range for the employee in the Days and Month calculation
Allow Non-Taxable Reimbursement to be saved without applying to retirement
If the user entered a '-' character in the W2 Configuration Submitter EIN field AND the district was setup to submit for themselves, the dash was included in the RA record.
This will cause the file to be rejected.
Once this change is installed, the district can rerun the submission and it will correctly remove the '-' character in the RA record.
A new XML tag was added to the W2 XML output file
<buildingDepartment></buildingDepartment>
Correct the year ODJFS is saved to in the file archive
Correct internal error when processing Indiana W2 Submission file
Correct calculation for QTD Employer's Medicare Contributions in Form 941 on the Quarter Report
Bug Fixes
Outstanding Payables - Error during posting would prevent previous items posted from being reported to the archive
W2 Control number was skipping if employees have multiple pay items for the same configuration
W2 XML - City Tax Items are rarely excluded from the output file
Items ARE included in the submission and pdf reports
