USPS-R 5.28.2 Release Notes

Summary

This is a hotfix release of USPS-R that corrects a W2 XML bug introduced on Jan 16, 2019 with the 5.22.3 release. 

Please Note: If you generated W2s prior to the 5.22.3 release being installed you were not affected by this issue. 

This issue does not affect the W2 submission file. If a district generated W2 print files (XML) after the 5.22.3 release was installed and there were employees with no city withholding and no OSDI withholding those employees were excluded from the W2 XML file. This could potentially have resulted in an employee who should have received a W2 not getting one if the district and the employee did not notice this exclusion. This issue also affected the W2 forms option, which generates printable W2 forms directly from USPS-R, however we believe this feature is not frequently utilized for W2 printing. 

Once again this issue only affected the W2 print files. The employee was correctly included in the W2 submission file that ultimately gets submitted to the various tax agencies. 

If an employee was incorrectly excluded due to this issue the district can regenerate their W2 in USPS-R after this release is installed.
