Tax Estimator

The Tax Estimator Module needs to be installed (SYSTEM/MODULES/TAX ESTIMATOR MODULE) first in order to see this option under Utilities.

**NOTE** If calculating on a new position or an employee's first pay on a new contract, no fields are calculated.  After the employee has been paid once on the new contract, the fields will calculate, or the data can be manually entered in the fields**

This program proves helpful to employees wanting to know the impact of tax related changes on their pay amount (e.g. changing exemptions or withholding amounts).

The employee can be found by entering either the SSN, ID or employee name in the Employee field.

Current payroll file data for employees can be called into the program or you can enter the data manually into the fields.

This is a full screen format program. No report file is created.

Enter in the Name or Employee ID or use the drop down to search for Employee:

To select a different employee, select employee from drop down box and click on .

Have the option to  for employees. Check to include Archived Compensations.

Select the Compensations from Available to Selected using :

Old W-4

Click on  to bring in the employees Tax information from Payroll Items:

Click on  to calculate current Amount Withheld:

From here you can change the data and recalculate by clicking on :

It will show the Old Withheld and what the Current Withheld will be with the new calculation.  Every time new data is entered and is recalculated by clicking on , the Current Withheld will move over to Old Withheld and the Current Withheld will update with the new calculations. So comparison can take place.

Using New 2020 W-4

If employee is using the New 2020 W-4, the new fields will show:
