Summary
This release of USAS-R contains bug fixes and improvements and new features as detailed in the release notes below.  Please keep in mind these release notes only reflect the changes included in this release. There are many other features of the software that were previously released that will not be reflected in these release notes. General information about all of the features available in USAS-R can be found in our USAS-R Documentation. There is a section in the documentation that also details the significant changes between USAS-R and Classic USAS.Â
Important Highlights
Bug Fixes
Corrected the 1099 Transmitter report to include EIN and name if generated for NEC only. Previously these values were being omitted. Â
Corrected a bug that prevented the check number from being included in the XML document if the vendor's default payment type is electronic.
Improved the Encumbrance Ledger Configuration to include an option to remove encumbrance impact adjustments. Previously when the encumbrance ledger was reinitialized all manual encumbrance impacts were also removed. The configuration now includes a checkbox allowing the user to decide if they would like the manual encumbrance adjustment impacts removed or not. The default will prevent them from being removed.
Improvements
Improved the error message that displays if the Workflows module is not properly installed. The message now reads "Could not connect to Workflows Engine; properties may not be set. Please contact your ITC."
1099 submission file changes for tax year 2021 per the IRS 1220 publication. Please note, we need to make additional changes to properly create submission files if you need to produce a prior year submission. Current tax year submission files can be created (2021), but if you need to create a submission form prior to 2021 you'll need to wait for additional changes to be released.
Created standard PDF print forms for both 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC. These intention of this enhancement is to wire this into the calendar year report bundle and file archive to easily view a PDF copy. This is not intended for printing and distribution of 1099s. Please note, the PDF format will only be support for payment year 2019 and beyond. It is not supported for payments years prior to 2019.
Note:Â Please be aware, the patch to update the fund type on all 200 funds will be completed soon as we anticipate releasing these changes to coincide with the full Classic release.
