Summary

We have made some additional improvements to USAS-R with the release of version 8.23.0.  This release contains exciting new features, improvements and bug fixes as detailed in the release notes below.

  1. The canned Financial Detail Report available from the Report menu has been updated to include the following

    1. The direct report link option has been added and is available once a report run has been saved.

    2. The following report format options are now available: Excel-Data, Excel-FieldNames, Comma Separated Value and Tab Separated Value.

    3. A formatting correction that prevents zero amounts from displaying as blank.  They will now properly display as 0.00

    4. The ability to generate a summary report option has been added.

    5. The report name has been added to the report options page.

    6. A caption was added to the view where the Financial Detail report is generated so it's clear what report you are generating.

    7. The default sort you are accustomed to has been implemented.  The default sort properties are applied in the following order: cash account, date, full account code, PO number, receipt number and then check number.

  2. Updates to the Fiscal Year End report bundle to ensure that the various auditor extracts run for the proper fiscal year.  Previously if July had been made current before June had been closed, the extracts were running for the fiscal year associated with the current period.  This has been corrected.

  3. Custodial Fund changes for FY 22 include updates to the 022 and 026 fund descriptions shown below, as well as renaming the Agency Fund fund type to be Custodial Fund.  The fund type for the 200 funds will also now show as Custodial Fund.  We will be updating the fund type for the 200 funds to be Special Revenue after Period H reporting closes, per AOS.  Districts may want to update descriptions of existing cash accounts related to the 022 and 026 funds if the names contain the word "agency".  Existing cash account descriptions were not modified with this change.  Any remaining Classic districts that will be migrating to Redesign will notice the fund type for applicable cash accounts will change from Agency Fund to Custodial Fund when imported into Redesign.  

    1. 022 District Custodial (was District Agency)

    2. 026 Employee Benefits Custodial (was Employee Benefits Agency)

  4. Corrected a bug that cause a problem when importing districts with a large number of Projects associated with cash accounts.  The problem was not consistently repeatable and caused the import to fail.

  5. Improved the performance of loading report definitions.

  6. Creation of the Audit Report Bundle.  Currently this bundle must be scheduled to run manually, there is no event to trigger as there are with the other SSDT report bundles.  In the first quarter of next calendar year the bundle will be updated to run on a particular day and will then no longer be schedulable.  See additional details below on running the bundle manually.  The bundle contains the following report used with the SOC 1 audit:

    1. SSDT User Listing AOS Extract

    2. SSDT Authentication and Password Requirement Configuration Report

    3. SSDT Default Breakin Detection and Evasion Rule Report

Additional Audit Report bundle details

When you need to run the new SSDT Audit Report Bundle you'll select the (schedule icon) and you'll see the normal "Schedule Report Bundle" popup.  To run it immediately and send the reports to the fiscal year archive, select the "Immediate" Job Type Option.  You'll notice the output and archive type are populated for you.  

If you need to run the bundle for a different fiscal year, simple edit the "Send output to" value to change 2022 to a different fiscal year.  If needed, you can also select the "Cron" Job Type Option and schedule the bundle to run at the desired time based on the cron expression.  The documentation for this new report  bundle will be available soon.

 

Important Highlights

Please keep in mind these release notes only reflect the changes included in this release.  There are many other features of the software that were previously released that will not be reflected in these release notes.  General information about all of the features available in USAS-R can be found in our USAS-R Documentation.  There is a section in the documentation that also details the significant changes between USAS-R and classic USAS.
