Modules

The Modules option displays all modules available within the software.   

Required Modules

Modules that are required are automatically installed when the data is imported.   Required modules will be grayed out on the grid.

After a district's data has been imported, the required modules should be reviewed to confirm they were all installed. If not all of the required modules are checkmarked, the ITC may need to review the STATUS button and possibly the import log under SYSTEM/Monitor to determine the cause.



Optional Modules

There are several optional modules the district can install after the import.  Any modules that have been installed will have a  on the module row.  Any modules that have not been installed will have a .


Installing a Module

  1. From the System menu select 'Modules'
  2. Click on the beside desired module
  3. A message will be displayed stating it has been installed but the change will not take full effect until the page is refreshed.  You must click on the 'refresh page' link or the refresh button on the browser in order to completely install the module.



  4. The following Modules require a restart of the application once they are installed. The restart does not need to be done separately for each one.
    1. Windows Active Directory Service Authentication
    2. LDAP Directory Authentication
    3. Legacy Password Migration

Uninstalling a Module

  1. From the System menu select 'Modules'
  2. Click on the beside desired module
  3. A message will be displayed stating it has been uninstalled but the change will not take full effect until the page is refreshed.


Available Modules

ACH Processing Module

This module displays the 'ACH Info' section (below) in the Vendor module.  USAS-R does not currently support the creation of ACH files, but these fields may be used with third-party vendor software that support vendor ACH submission.

Accounts Receivable Module

To install the Accounts Receivable Module, click .  This module must be restarted before the Accounts Receivable Billing Email Setup can be updated under System > Configuration. 

Classic Requisition Approval Module

If this module is enabled,  the 'Workflow Status' and 'Workflow Context' custom fields will be displayed on the requisition to indicate its status when using a third party software that transfers this approval information back into the Redesign.  Requisitions may only be converted to purchase orders after the status has been set to 'approved' by a user with the appropriate security defined in the third party software.  This module also activates an optional "transmitted status' custom field on the purchase order so that an outside purchasing system may optionally inform USAS whether the PO was already transmitted to the vendor.  This module would not need to be installed if the third party software does not communicate this workflow back into the Redesign. (i.e. RAM or OnBase)

EIS Classic Integration

When installed, the 'EIS Classic Integration Configuration' option under SYSTEM/Configuration is available.  The configuration setup is optional.  This allows the user to enter a desired pending threshold amount and optionally select the 'automatic' checkbox.  If the configuration setup is complete, the user can run the SSDT Inventory Pending Extract report.  This report will extract any invoiced items meeting the configuration requirements and invoiced 'since date'.

Email Notification Services

This module will allow email notifications to be sent from the application. When enabled, the Email Configuration option will be available to add the default from email address and the Port and SMTP Host information. Email notifications must be enabled to send Reports or Report Bundles via the Job Scheduler.

LDAP Directory Authentication

To install the LDAP Directory Authentication module, click . This module requires a restart of the application once it is installed.

Legacy Password Migration

To install the Legacy Password Migration module, click . This module requires a restart of the application once it is installed. For information on using this option please refer to the technical documentation for Migrating Classic Passwords to Redesign.

Mass Change Service

If this module is enabled and a user account is modified to grant permission to use the mass change service, the user will need to log out of the application and log back to see the button in the user interface.  Mass Change access is granted by default to users with Administrator access. The following permissions can be granted to other users:

  • ADMIN_MASSCHANGE
  • ADMIN_MASSCHANGE_CREATE
  • ADMIN_MASSCHANGE_DELETE
  • ADMIN_MASSCHANGE_EXECUTE

Pre-Encumbrance Module

This module is used to include Requisition Amount and Future Requisition Amount on the Core > Account > Expenditure record. This figure will be included in the Remaining Balance calculation. These fields can be added to grids via the 'More' option and utilized for reports. This is also used for user based balance checking of requisition amounts.

Simple Balance Checking Module

This module is used in combination with the Pre-Enucumbrance module to allow pre-encumbrance amounts to be used in balance checking for Requisition and/or Encumbrances. The following rules will also need to be enabled depending on if warnings or errors are desired.

Twitter Notification Services

USPS Integration Module

This module must be enabled for USAS-R to communicate with USPS-R. When enabled, the USPS Configuration will be available on the Configuration page. This is used to sync accounts between USAS-R and USPS-R and to receive files from the USPS-R application into Pending Transactions (Payroll posting, Employer Distribution, Employer Retirement, etc.).

User-Based Balance Checking Module

When installed, the 'Balance Checking' options listed below are available under SYSTEM/User.  By default, that will all be checkmarked to allow  the following:

  • allow negative appropriation
  • allow negative budget
  • warn on negative budget

Applicable warnings/errors determined by rules enabled. Review rules that include "userbasedbalancechecking" in the rule name and enable as needed.

Warnings that check Pre-Encumbrances (totals related to requisitions) will require Pre-Encumbrance module enabled.

Windows Active Directory Service Authentication

To install the Windows Active Directory Service Authentication module, click . This module requires a restart of the application once it is installed.

Workflows Module  

To install the Workflows Module under the System menu, click   .  This module requires a Page Refresh.

The Workflow Configuration option, under the System menu will now be available.
