Home Page

Home is the Welcome page for the application.  It contains a Report Dashboard listing all of the Template Reports you have access to or just the ones you've chosen as your favorites.  If the Workflow Module is installed, the user will see any Workflow Tasks listed on the right.  Above the application menu, it denotes the package (USAS), the entity and the username of who is currently logged in.  

Open

The current posting period and fiscal year appear on the Notification tab at the top right corner of the application. This will appear on all pages throughout USAS.

Messages

Messages can be accessed by clicking on the  icon on the Notification tab next to "Messages" in the top right corner of the application.

Application Health

The Application Health is updated when a software update is released or the instance is manually restarted.

Open

Click the view icon to open the Message Detail.

Errors and Warnings

Warning: There was a problem during the post import process; not all jobs completed successfully. Check the import log for errors.

For any import related job that does not have a status of "COMPLETED" the Application Health will be set to a warning display this message. If you see this message, review the import log (from the server) for errors and check the System/Monitor Status tab to review jobs that FAILED.

Warning: application restart needed

This indicates that a Module was installed that requires a restart of the application. See the Modules page for a list of Modules that require the application to be restarted.

Help

About

The About menu option will provide the current information on the Application Version, Support & Feedback, Browser Requirements, etc.

The ability to Send Server Log to the SSDT is also available under this menu.

Public USAS Reports Library

The Public USAS Reports Library menu option will provide the link to the various shared USAS reports available for users to utilize.

Document Structure

This document explains how to use the USAS application.

The user manual is organized by the menus in USAS and then alphabetically by program. It contains details and steps for executing the programs in the USAS package. 

Core menu contains the central pieces of USAS. 

Transaction menu contains the entity's daily functions for transaction processing.

Budgeting menu offers interfaces to handle the various Budgeting processes involved in creating temporary and permanent estimates of expenditures and revenues.

Periodic menu contains interfaces performed during monthly or yearly processing. 

Report menu allows the user to generate a report from either a  listing of canned, predefined reports or create a custom report using the "custom report generator" option.

Extracts allows the user to extract certain data in CSV or Excel format.

System menu contains various programs that control how processing is defined and performed  in the system.

Utilities menu contains various utility type interfaces for assisting other processes. 

USPS Integration allows for integration with the USPS application for posting payrolls and their related transactions into USAS.

This manual is intended for both beginning and experienced users of the USAS system.
