Custom Links
Districts have the option of displaying frequently used websites under the Custom Links area of the Home screen. The Custom links menu options are used to maintain websites displayed as well as whitelist trusted websites.
Manage Custom Links
Role: Users with Custom Link Manager, District Manager or Admin roles.
The Manage Custom Links options allows users the ability to maintain the district’s accessible websites that are displayed on the Home screen.
Create a Custom Link
From the ESS menu, click Manage Custom Links:
Click
Enter the website URL, description and website display order on how you want websites to appear on the Home screen.
Click
to create the custom link or
to cancel out of the window without saving changes.
Custom Link Grid Options
The Custom Link grid allows users the ability to search for existing custom links by clicking on the filter row in the grid columns and entering the desired information.
Available options in the grid include:
View the entire custom link record. When viewing, the Audit Report button is available.
Allows an Audit report to be generated using the defined start and end dates.
Edit a custom link record.
Delete a custom link record.
Manage Whitelist
Role: Users with Whitelist Manager, District Manager or Admin roles.
Users with the Whitelist Manager role can manage trusted websites displayed on the custom links area of the Home screen. If a website has been whitelisted, users can click the link from the Home screen to be taken directly to the site. For websites that are not whitelisted, a dialog box will appear to warn the user that they are navigating to an untrusted website.
To Create a Whitelist URL
From the ESS menu, under Custom Links, select Manage Whitelist
Select the display order in which you want whitelisted websites to appear on the Home screen.
Select the URL you want to whitelist from the dropdown list of URLs.
Click ‘Create’ to save the whitelisted website.
Click
to activate the whitelisted URL.
Whitelist Grid Options
Available options in the grid include:
View existing whitelisted website details. When viewing, the Audit Report button is available.
Edit an existing whitelisted website.
Deletes and removes a whitelisted website from the grid.
