Extracting Data out of Kiosk

The following provides a guideline for ITCs/districts to follow when extracting data out of the (legacy) Kiosk system. We strongly recommend ITCs extract their district’s data out of Kiosk.

Kiosk extracts are found in the Kiosk Test application only https://kiosktest.managementcouncil.org

ITC staff will need login credentials to the Kiosk Test application. The same login credentials used in the live application may be used in the test application. We recommend ITC’s Kiosk account have the ITC Kiosk Administrator role assigned to it in order to easily search your district’s Kiosk data extracts.

Once logged into the Kiosk Test application:

  1. Click on ITC Kiosk Administrator

  2. Click on Update/Delete District Configuration. A grid of matching districts belonging to your ITC will be displayed.

  3. Click on the IRN number to view the district’s Kiosk configuration information.

  1. The Kiosk export extracts are found at the top of the screen. For each district, you may see up to 6 zipped export files per extract date. Kiosk developers are currently extracting a refreshed set of data files on a weekly basis (it will be reflected in the ‘created date’ column).

  2. When you are ready to download the district’s export files, click on the ‘File Link’ on the most recent version of each zipped folder.

    1. If you are planning to import data into ESS, please download and unzip the most recent KIOSK_NOUSPS_DD_MM_YYYY_##_##_##.zip which contains the CSV files needed for the ESS import.

    2. The rest of the Kiosk extracts can be archived any time prior to the September 30th deadline (with the exception of the KIOSK_IPDP_DD_MM_YYYY_##_##_##.zip and KIOSK_IPDP_FILES_DD_MM_YYYY_##_##_##.zip if your district will continue to use IPDP in Kiosk until July 2025).

It’s strongly recommended ITCs work with their districts on a plan to store the Legacy Kiosk extracts for archival purposes.

  • KIOSK_TS_DD_MM_YYYY_##_##_##.zip

    • Contains Timesheet related data. This zip file will only be generated if the district is currently using (or has used) Timesheets in Kiosk. NOTE: Timesheet setup related data will not be available to import into Kiosk until the production release (July 2024)

  • KIOSK_NOUSPS_DD_MM_YYYY_##_##_##.zip

    • Contains Kiosk stored data. The .CSV files needed to import into ESS are located in this extract (example of some of the files are highlighted below). Please refer to the Employee Self Service Import from Kiosk guide for a complete list of Kiosk extract files that can be imported into ESS as well as how to import them.

  • KIOSK_IPDP_DD_MM_YYYY_##_##_##.zip

    • Contains IPDP related data. This zip file will only be generated if the district is currently using (or has used) IPDP in Kiosk. NOTE: IPDP (only) will continue to be available in the Legacy Kiosk application until July 2025.

  • KIOSK_INUSPS_DD_MM_YYYY_##_##_##.zip

    • Contains Kiosk-related data that is not included in the KIOSK_NOUSPS extract. FYI: This extract includes Kiosk leave requests.

  • KIOSK_FILES_DD_MM_YYYY_##_##_##.zip

    • Will only be generated if the district’s Kiosk data contains attachments.

  • KIOSK_IPDP_FILES_DD_MM_YYYY_##_##_##.zip

    • Will only be generated if the district’s IPDP data contains attachments.
