USAS-R v7.10.3-9 Release Notes

Summary

This is the third hotfix release for version 7.10.  This hotfix corrects a couple of problems.

We unintentionally introduced a problem when we implemented a rule requiring full invoices be posted after partial invoice per purchase order charge.  The problem is with legacy data imported from the Classic system.  Classic allows you to post partial invoices after full invoices based on invoice date.  The Redesign uses the invoice date as the effective date, which is used when calculating the impact the transaction has on encumbrances.  When you post a full invoice you are saying there is no encumbrance left for this item.  If you post a partial invoice after the full, meaning a later invoice date, the Redesign does not know how to cope with that because there is no encumbrance.  In order to deal with the imported transactions, we had to modify the rule to ignore legacy transactions so users can close out their purchase orders that originated in the Classic system.

A third party vendor notified of us of a difference in the data we were returning through SOAP calls to the Classic and Redesign applications when they were attempting to retrieve the current posting period.  Classic returns the calendar month and fiscal year, but Redesign was returning the fiscal month and fiscal year.  We updated the SOAP Service to make the two systems return the same values.

A hotfix or quick-fix is typically a single change that addresses a problem in the software.  Hotfixes are made to address a specific concern and provide a quick solution.

Please keep in mind these release notes only reflect the changes included in this release. There are many other features of the software that were previously released that will not be reflected in these release notes.
